SORRY this post is a bit late. Crochet octopus today.
- G hook
- yarn worthy of an octopus
- a stitch marker (place at the end of every round)
(this is not crocheted in joined rounds, they’re continuous rounds)
Rnd 1: Ch 2, 8 sc in first ch, place st marker. (8)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in every stitch around. (16)
Rnds 3-5: 1 sc in ea stitch around. (16)
Rnd 6: Decrease in every stitch around. (8)
Stuff but do not finish off.
Now we make the tentacles.
Rnd 7: Ch 20, sc in 2nd st from hook, sc in each ch, sc in next st in the opening. Repeat 7 more times. I varied the length of the tentacles from 20-25 ch.
After the last tentacle is made, sl st into the opening, fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Using tail, weave in stitches to close the opening. Pull so the stuffing won’t come out, but not too tight. Fasten off, weave in ends.
You now have an octopus! Sorry about the no pictures. I’ll try to get some pics up soon.
