Make-it-Monday ~preemie hat~

I’ve been making lots of preemie hats to donate lately, and I thought I’d post the pattern.

You’ll need

  • an H hook
  • baby yarn
  • scissors

Starter: Ch 3, sl st in first ch to form a loop.

Rnd 1: Ch 2, 13 dc in ring, sl st in first stitch to complete rnd. (14 stitches including chains)

Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 dc in each stitch. Sl st in first stitch to complete rnd. (28 stitches)

Rnd 3: Ch 2, dc in each stitch around. Sl st in first stitch to complete rnd. (28)

Rnds 4-7: Ch 2, dc in each stitch around. Sl st in first stitch to complete rnd. (28)

Now for the last round, you can do reverse single crochet for the border, or a row of sl st, or make a picot border, or do a few rounds of single crochet. I normally use reverse single crochet, but take your pick.

Rnd 8: make your border.

Finish off and weave in ends.

Crochet abbreviations.
