Make-it-Monday ~granny square~

We’re gonna make a granny square. You can make lots of these and sew them together to form a blanket.

You’ll need

  • a size J hook
  • a skein of yarn
  • scissors

Foundation ring: ch 4, sl st in first ch to form ring. You will crochet in this ring.

Row 1: ch 3, 2 dc in ring,* ch 3, 3 dc in ring* repeat from * to * three times. Ch 3 and 3 sl st along the dcs until you reach the corner.

After finishing row 1, your granny square should look like this.

Row 2: ch 3, 2 dc, *ch 3, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc* repeat from * to * three times. Ch 3, 3 dc,  ch 1, 3 sl st to corner.

This is a corner of the granny square.

After row 2, your granny square should look like this.

Row 3: ch 3, 2 dc, *ch 3, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc* repeat from * to * three times. Ch 3, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 sl st to corner.

Finish off.
