Make-it-Monday ~crochet popsicle~

I was surfing the web and saw this really cute picture of a popsicle, but for some reason I can’t find it now, but anyway I decided to make my very own crochet popsicle!

Ta-da! So, anyway pattern.

You’ll need

  • an H hook (or whichever size fits your yarn)
  • pink variegated worsted weight yarn (I think I used something from Red Heart, but the label fell off)
  • tan worsted weight yarn (this was from Red Heart too)
  • tapestry needle
  • stuffing

Gauge:
3 sc stitches = 1 inch
3 sc rows = 1 inch

Crochet Pattern: Popcicle (Make 2)

Row 1: ch 9, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn: 8 sc

Row 2-11: sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn: 8 sc

Row 12: skip first sc, sc in next 5 sc, skip 1 sc, sc in last sc, ch 1, turn: 6 sc

Row 13: skip first sc, sc in next 3 sc, skip 1 sc, sc in last st, finish off: 4 sc

Popsicle Stick (Make 1)

Row 1: ch 4, sc in second ch from hook and in each sc across: 3 sc

Row 2-10: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across: 3 sc

Sl st or whip stitch the right and left sides together to form a round popsicle stick. Finish off.

Assembly
Whip stitch the two popsicle pieces together, leaving the bottom open and turn inside out. Stuff with fiberfill. Next, tuck in the popsicle stick and whip stitch the bottom closed.
